Last updated: September 2026

Are you thinking of bringing your kids or family to Las Vegas?

Surprisingly, there are many things to do with kids in Vegas, not to mention great hotels that even offer kids clubs, wave pools, and many family-friendly amenities as well.

Check out the best family friendly hotels in Las Vegas when you plan your next family vacation. A few classic “kid magnets” are gone — The Mirage closed July 17, 2024 (Hard Rock construction; volcano and Beatles LOVE are not bookable anymore) — so we refreshed this list for what’s actually open now.

Mandalay Bay

Mandalay Bay is an excellent hotel for families on the far South end of the Las Vegas Strip. The resort hotel and casino property are known for its 11 acres of real sand beaches including three large swimming pools and a 1.6 million gallon wave pool.

Why Great for Kids: Mandalay Bay is ideal for families who want a sunny, beach experience on a quieter part of the strip where adults can relax poolside while kids play in the waves.

Family Friendly Features at Mandalay Bay

Some of our favorite family-friendly attractions at Mandalay Bay include:

Shark Reef Aquarium: The aquarium at Mandalay Bay is a complete sensory experience that transports families under the ocean and immerses them in tropical waters as they travel through an ancient temple being slowly consumed by the sea.

The shipwreck exhibit is 1.3 million gallons and allows being surrounded by sharks and other tropical fish in an acrylic tunnel. There is also a Touch Pool with stingrays, sharks, and crabs.

Concerts on The Beach: Families can relax on the beaches and listen to live music when shows are scheduled — check the current calendar for family-friendly dates.

Michael Jackson ONE by Cirque Du Soleil: Older children and teens will love going to this Cirque show with their parents. The soundtrack is Michael Jackson, but ONE adds acrobatics and visual immersion to create a music production that will have the entire family singing and dancing. (ONE is still running as of September 2026 — check current tickets.)

Citizens Kitchen & Bar: Citizens is open 24 hours and serves comfort food and American classics. Everyone in the family can find something they love to eat at Citizens, and the full array of beer is lovely for parents too!

Family-Friendly Features at Circus Circus

The Adventuredome: The Dome features roller coaster rides, an FX Theater 4D Features, free circus acts, and a classic Midway. There is also a roller-skating rink, arcade, obstacle course challenge, mini golf, and even bowling. Circus Circus has some of the best rides in Las Vegas.

Splash Zone: This outdoor waterpark at Circus Circus covers more than one acre of the property and features a water playground, a 50 ft water slide, and numerous swimming pools.

KÀ is still running (schedules listed into late 2026; extended through November 2026 per MGM/Cirque — not closed). Check current dark dates before you book.

Virtual Reality / arcade-style attractions: On-property VR and game experiences come and go — confirm what’s open on-site the week you visit rather than chasing a specific titled booth.

Topgolf: The entertainment venue is an interactive golf experience with climate-controlled hitting bays, plus food and a lively vibe that works for older kids and parents.

Red Rock Casino and Resort

Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa sits near the entrance of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, which makes it ideal for families who love the outdoors. The hotel is also a manageable drive from the Strip.

Article Tip: Red Rock Resort is a Kids Quest Resort Partner — a strong off-Strip pick when you want supervised kids activities and canyon access.

Red Rock Resort Highlights for Kids

Kids Quest: Parents can rest assured knowing their children are in good hands with Kids Quest. This isn’t just a daycare; Kids Quest is a vacation spot just for kids with a play center and supervised activities where kids can hang out with other kids and have as much fun as mom and dad.

Bellagio replaced The Mirage on this list. It’s a Center Strip classic with free outdoor wow moments and one of the best remaining Cirque residencies — without the closed Mirage volcano / LOVE pitch.

Family attractions to pair with these hotels (September 2026)

Beyond the hotel pools and arcades, these are the current family hits we actually recommend:

  • Sphere — open since 2023; book a residency or attraction experience that fits your kids’ ages (tickets sell out — check live inventory).
  • Bellagio Fountains + Conservatory — free Center Strip classics (see Bellagio above).
  • Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay — still one of the best indoor kid hours on the Strip.
  • Adventuredome at Circus Circus — indoor coasters and midway when it’s 110° outside.
  • Cirque residencies still running: O (Bellagio), Mystère (Treasure Island), Michael Jackson ONE (Mandalay Bay), (MGM Grand). Do not plan around Beatles LOVE (ended with Mirage, July 2024) or Mad Apple (final performance Sept 5, 2026).

There is no shortage of hotels in Las Vegas, but if you are looking for family-friendly Las Vegas hotels that match today’s Strip, the options above are our current picks.
