Unleash the Fun: A Guide to Spring Break in Las Vegas

When you get a prolonged break from school, do you care to spend it quietly at home or in the heart of debauchery? If a good book isn’t going to satisfy that Spring Break itch, then you may need to turn to the glitz and glam of Las Vegas.

A Las Vegas Spring Break is unlike any other, marked by lavished casinos, extravagant nightclubs, memorable experiences, and delicious food. It’s so much more than your typical party by the beach, and for Spring Break 2023, it may be the city you should consider

To prepare for a Spring Break to remember, we’ve compiled information on events you won’t want to miss, what you can expect the weather to be like, and how you should spend your break from studies and responsibility.

Spring Break Las Vegas: When Is It?

If you want to participate in Sin City’s own local Spring Break, you’ll want to come down around mid-March. The local universities typically run their Spring Breaks a little earlier than other parts of the country.

If you’re traveling for your local Spring Break, however, there’s really no such thing as a “bad time” to travel to Vegas.

Especially when it comes to springtime.

Tip: If you plan on traveling during March Madness for Spring break in Vegas, be prepared for big crowds and elevated prices for everything.

Typical Spring Break in Vegas is from March through Mid-April.

What’s the Weather Like?

March may seem very early, but while the north may be getting snow, in Las Vegas, the pools are starting to open. Vegas resort pools and dayclubs are typically heated, and trust us, March is a much more comfortable month to lounge outside than, say, June. The beginning of April would only mean even more comfortable weather.

In March 2022, the average high temperature hovered around the mid-70s, and the skies were clear. With the desert sun beating down, the mid-70s can feel like a comfortable 80 degrees.

Spring Break 2023 Events

At any point of the year in Las Vegas, you can count on something happening. It helps that there are nightly shows and artists striving to take the main stage in this booming city. Because of how the two land, Spring Break is usually synonymous with March Madness. If you stay long enough, you may also celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by drinking green beer on the Strip.

For Spring Break 2023, you’ll be able to catch a few residencies, such as Usher or Adele.

Adele’s residency is scheduled to end on March 23, but Usher will play well through your time off.

How to Spend Your Spring Break in Vegas

One of the most intimidating aspects of traveling to Las Vegas for any reason is planning an itinerary. There is so much to do that you’ll always feel like you’re leaving something out. And unfortunately, it’s bound to happen.

There are staples that you’ll absolutely want to squeeze in, and activities or adventures that you probably never even thought about. Let’s help you plan the best Vegas Spring Break imaginable with a few ideas.

The Daylife

You know Vegas is known for its nightclubs, but did you know those parties happen in the light of day, too? Sapphire Pool & Dayclub, AYU Dayclub at Resorts World, TAO Beach, Encore Beach Club, Marquee Dayclub, Daylight Beach Club, and Drai’s Beachclub all host their own poolside parties

It’s the energy of a nightclub submerged in three feet of water, complete with top live entertainment, flowing drinks, and an electrified crowd. It may be a little harder to dance in water, but get a drink or two in you and you’ll certainly want to try.

The Nightlife

Las Vegas has a world-class nightlife, brought to life by over-the-top venues and leading names in musical entertainment. Neon-bathed spaces invite crowds looking to party the week away in some of the biggest Spring Break parties you’ll find in the nation. Even if you’re not a dancer, that dancefloor is impossible to pass up, especially if your eye catches someone you like.

The best way to enjoy a Vegas nightclub is with a VIP bottle experience. Pay for a bottle, and you get a guaranteed table, VIP transportation, unlimited mixers, and all eyes on you for the entire evening.

Clubs you’ll want to put on your radar include:

  • XS at Encore
  • Hakkasan Nightclub at MGM Grand
  • Marquee Nightclub at The Cosmopolitan
  • Jewel Nightclub at Aria
  • TAO Nightclub at The Venetian
  • Drai’s Nightclub at the Cromwell

Want to increase your chances of a celebrity encounter? TAO is a classic Vegas establishment always brimming with big names.

Get Outside

When you’re not partying, it’s recommended you get a breath of fresh desert air. Step away from the Strip for a little bit and venture down to the Hoover Dam or embark on a hike just 20 minutes west of Vegas in Red Rock Canyon.

For some adventure in your life, book yourself an ATV/dune buggy tour through the Valley of Fire or a helicopter ride over the valley. Too often, visitors forget there’s a whole world beyond the stretch of casinos and resorts.

See Some Attractions

To make some unique memories in Vegas, you’ll want to visit some of the local attractions.

Pull yourself away from the slot machines and pools for a day and check out sites like the Pinball Hall of Fame, Adventuredome theme park, High Roller observation wheel, Mob Museum, Zak Bagan’s The Haunted Museum, or old-school charm of Fremont Street.

Area 15 is also quite the trip with its selection of immersive entertainment, from the Omega Mart exhibit to the sensory-driven Illuminarium.
