“O” Cirque du Soleil Overview
“O” is a water-themed Cirque du Soleil production that has continuously been ranked as one of the top Vegas stage productions, and in permanent residence at the Bellagio since fall of 1998. “O,” an abbreviation of eau, the French word for water, is truly an international extravaganza. It features some 85 performers from more than 20 countries from immensely talented trapeze artists, acrobats and synchronized swimmers to dancers, clowns and even a 10-piece orchestra.
The production is performed on, in and above an enormous aquarium, drawing its audience into a submarine fantasy wonderland of dreams creating a truly breathtaking experience in a grand theater that is reminiscent of a 14th century European opera house.
Those that frequently enjoy many of the Cirque shows often feel that the water adds an extra-special, thrilling element that makes “O,” the best. The celebration of water with its power and ability to stir the imagination is unsurpassed, leaving audience members in awe of how these performers can accomplish some of the most incredible feats from dizzying heights, even diving into tiny areas of open water.
The show follows the adventure of a Cirque clown who attempts to reunite with a mysterious woman, but theatrics take precedence as it explores the concept of infinity and water’s purest form, bringing inspiration from street theater to an elaborate opera and beyond.
“O” is a fantastical experience for the entire family that has been selling out for nearly 15 years and is not-to-be-missed when it comes to extraordinary Vegas shows.
