Rio Zipline Tips and Information
While the ride is called a zipline, the experience is actually more reminiscent of a ski lift for two (without any snow or skiing). It’s an open-air ride that zips you and a friend (or stranger) at speeds up to 35 miles per hour to the Rio’s Ipanema tower and back.
Now, while 35 miles per hour may not sound very fast, you’d be surprised by how quick the ride feels above sleepy stretches of road in a residential neighborhood. Your feet are dangling in mid-air above the pavement, and you’ll get a thrill as soon as you’re strapped in. Enjoy the bird’s eye view!
To return to the starting point, guests ride an additional 800 feet to the starting point while facing backward.
The total ride is nearly one-third of a mile.
When planning a trip to Las Vegas, you may struggle to find all of the family-friend destinations.
Fortunately, Rio Zipline is one of the top family-friendly activities to do in Vegas. As long as all participants are above the 48-inch height requirement, everyone is able to participate. An age requirement (21 years) does apply after 7:30 PM.
There’s no age restriction. However, riders must be at least 48” tall to ride and weigh less than 450 pounds. Guests must be 21 years of age or older to ride after 7:30 PM.
Speed and duration
The ride moves at 35 mph for 70 seconds.
Please note that you cannot ride if you’re pregnant or intoxicated. If you’ve spent the day in the bars or casinos on the Strip, then the zipline is not the next best move.
Sorry! There are also no GoPros or handheld cameras permitted.
